Benefits of Membership

As an IEEE student member you will receive a copy of the monthly periodical, Spectrum, that contains articles pertaining to many of the different focuses in Electrical Engineering. The magazine is geared toward students and is complemented by The Institute another publication that focuses on happenings in IEEE itself. As a member you also gain access to dozens of specific technical societies that range from Antennas to Robotics and Lasers. Each society has its own publications specific to its focus. IEEE is a great glimpse into the engineering profession and gives you access to many networking resources including career planning, conferences, online publications and a IEEE email alias. As a student your fees are only $30/year. A professional membership costs well over $100. For more information & applications please contact us at unrieee@googlegroups.com, come to a meeting, or check out the IEEE webpage.

Non-Technical Benefits of Membership

Along with all of the technical based stuff mentioned above, there are many other great benefits of being a member. You will meet many new friends that you will have through most all of your classes and even after graduation. We have many activities planned for this year and even the summer. Being a member looks great on your resume, and can even get you the contacts to give that resume to.
